Metamorphosis

During a period where I was going through vision loss, at the time, I used the metaphor of being in my cocoon p[hase, because I felt like, on the other side of this, is a new world, a metamorphosis into a new version of me. I didn’t know why I felt that way but that helped me through that time in my life.

This particular piece is the first large painting I created when I started painting in October 2023. When I stepped back I realized the eye shapes formed into a butterfly wing, and it became clear to me that this paining is the embodiment of my journey as a legally blind artist.
